First day of school since holiday
So today was our first day back from holiday. Today started out a little shaky, only in the fact that I woke up late and then after my shower I was blow drying my hair and my hairdryer broke :( so I ended up using a fan haha. But I still made it in time to be fetched. It felt really good to be back in the schools with the learners. The learners are my motivation for going back to school each day. They are so amazing. The motivation that the learners show for learning makes me excited about teaching. The one thing I have noticed about the learners here compared to those in America, is that the learners here have a drive to learn. They will stay after class to go up to the board and look over a problem that we had gone over. They will go together in groups and explain the problem to each other even after class has finished. This is not a common occurrence in America. These learners want to learn, and it is sad because most of the teachers seem to not want to be there. The learners are behind in their learning and I believe it is because of the lack of motivation in the teachers and not the learners. This is why the students are my motivation for going to school here. I can't express how awesome they are. I am really excited to Skype with Stephen tonight, I miss him so much. Anyways, that is about all that happened today. I am looking forward to tomorrow and hopefully will be teaching a lesson to the learners.
